Who we are


AGB Nielsen Media Research is the UK member of the AGB Nielsen Media Research Group, the largest provider of television audience measurement services in the world. After installing the very first national panel in the world (Italy, 1981), the AGB Nielsen Media Research Group has specialised in the installation and management of peoplemeter systems. With the inclusion now of the UK, the AGB Group is running peoplemeter TAM (Television Audience Measurement) systems in 30 countries on five continents and has thus become the first fully integrated, dedicated supplier of TAM on a global scale.


Our Mission


AGB Nielsen Media Research has a very clear mission to fulfil: To establish a common currency used by TV Stations, Media Planners and Advertisers for their advertising transactions, based upon a reliable, independent, and transparent audience measurement system.

A TAM system is reliable when the provider has solid experience in TAM data production. It is independent when the provider operates from a position of neutrality recognised by all market players. And it is transparent when every component of the system is comprehensible and accessible to qualified auditing by the market.

It is a new era for TAM measurement in the UK. The AGB Nielsen Media Research Group team is in place, eager and ready to provide new levels of data quality and service that the market is demanding.

The Seven Steps of the AGB Nielsen Media Research Audience Measurement system guarantees the production of reliable, independent and transparent television audience measurement data The Seven Steps system was first implemented in Italy, and since has been introduced successfully in 16 countries.

AGB Nielsen Media Research is dedicated in serving the market from the first step to the last, and our "System" allows us to follow precisely each step from the study of the target population to the analysis of the retrieved data. The Group does not sell any of the proprietary tools to third parties.
